BlendVET

BlendVET is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway grants and is a cooperative project between three countries; Iceland, Slovenia and Norway. The main topic of BlendVET is boosting digital skills and developing didactical solutions for introducing online learning in VET programmes. This project is a response to the need of VET providers to review their strategies in order to integrate digital technologies in their teaching, learning and organisational practices. The BlendVET project comprises a series of development and training activities aiming to support the development of VET professionals’ pedagogical and digital competencies, and to provide comprehensive didactical and digital solutions for teaching and learning processes.

ELECTROECO TEAM - 2021-1-IS01-KA220-VET-000024804

ELECTROECO TEAM is a cooperation partnership project between six electro schools; VMA in Akureyri Iceland, IES Santa Lucía in Canary Spain, BMSZC Egressy Gábor Két Tanítási Nyelvű Technikum in Budapest Hungary, MTAL in Istanbul Turkey, Agora in Roermond Netherlands and Solski Center in Celje Slovenia. The project is based on workshops where the students work together on projects centered around sustainability and green energy. The main goals of the project are; to raise awareness among students of the impact of climate change and the importance of acting also from a professional level, to develop a set of mini technical projects in an international environment, with a sustainable and environmental approach, to learn and work together with other EU students, to create and share samples of best practices, to establish new connections between peer schools and o train good quality trainees/workers with international knowledge, skills and competence-base, relevant to work life.

This is a two-year project that will start with a Kick off meeting in Slovenia in December 2021. Each participating country will host one workshop where students and teachers from all participant countries will meet to work together on the project's objectives. The workshop in Akureyri will be held in May 2022.

The project aims to tackle the challenges of inclusion and equity in virtual teaching and learning environments. This project provides teachers a virtual space for sharing information on inclusive teaching methods. The overall objective of this project is to bring European VET teachers together online to experiment, create and share virtual and digital experiences and practices. Teachers have only too few possibilities to share their thoughts and doubts with national and international peers, especially in the present era of restrictions. The primary aim of this project is to offer teachers in VET from different disciplines across Europe a chance to co-create and co-experiment innovative practices when developing digital learning and teaching material that develop the students’ vocational skills and key competences for lifelong learning. Read more about the project.

VET 4 Change - 2020-1-FR01-KA2020-080504

The project aims to find the tools and innovative methods to better meet territorial needs in form of required skills and also to improve the dialogue between education/training system skills. Action learning and research methods will be used in this project. The partners in this project are MFR Grand EstFrance, GAL Cluj Napoca Romania, Breza Croatia, BSC Slovenia, IFOCAP France, Inter Mondes Belgium, Leader Union Estonia and VMA Iceland.

Ready for the World - 2020-1-IS01-KA229-065828

For this project three schools will be working together on the topic: How can we assist and empower people in need for help? The three schools participating in the project are; Verkmenntaskólinn á Akureyri in Iceland, SOSU Randers in Denmark and Morgen College which is a part of the Landstede school group in Harderwiijk in the Netherlands. Each school will form a diverse group of 10-15 students from all layers of society, that will meet in each country and work together on the topic.

Rotten Shark and Aioli: Sharing Culinary Culture to Erase Differences - 2019-1-FR01-KA229-062996

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program and is based on cooperation between the culinary department in VMA and MFR La Tour d´Aigues in Southern France. The aim of the project is to work with local food traditions, both old traditions as well as local modern food processing. Here in Akureyri the students will get to know and present local food production and the same goes for the French students. The plan was to welcome a group of French students and teachers in Akureyri in spring 2020 and to send a group of students and teachers from VMA to France a week later. Due to Covid-19 the visits have been postponed.

VET@Work - 2018-1-FI01-KA202-047198

This Erasmus project is in some ways a direct continuation of other Erasmus projects, Workmentor and AppMentor, which VMA also participated in. The main aim of the project is to produce an online manual for implementing innovative ways of collaborating with the labor market when educating students within VET. Participants in the project come from both the educational system and the labour market. VMA's partners in the project are Het Idee and Stichting Welzijn Lelystad from the Netherlands, Axxell Utbildning AB and Raseborgs stad from Finland, Nantes Terre Atlantique from France, Broadshoulders Ltd from the UK and Hársnyrtistofan Medulla.

Empowerment by innovation - a must for inclusion - NPJR-2019/10113

This is a project that is funded by Nordplus and is based on a collaboration between schools in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark and the Business and Economics department in VMA. The project centers around using creative and innovative methods when it comes to the social inclusion of immigrants. That is the topic that the students will be working with. A group of students from VMA visited a school in Porvoo in Finland in October 2019. The remaining visits have been postponed due to Covid-19.

Students gaining experience abroad - Erasmus+

VMA is actively involved in sending students abroad for training and also takes care of students from abroad. VMA is working with SOSU in Randers Denmark and with Salpaus Lahti Finland in sending students for work placements in other countries.
